Pondering Water: A Spiritual and Practical Inquiry

Adult Study Series - Sundays, September 20 - October 11, 9:30 a.m.

Alaska's glaciers are shrinking at an ever-increasing rate. A baby perks up in worship as baptismal water runs over her head. Californians have had to let their lawns go parched. A glass of water on a hot morning refreshes a runner. Coastal areas face threats from rising seas. The Wissahickon nourishes a breathtakingly beautiful urban ecosystem.

Water is intrinsic to our very existence. What does our existence mean for bodies of water? What does their existence mean for us? The questions are both spiritual and practical.

In this four week series, we will consider watershed maps and reflect on what water means to us spiritually; we will consider the inevitable interplay between water and energy; we'll learn about, and ask questions about, various policies that impact water; and we'll take a visit to the park to make the series tactile and experiential.
