Linda Noonan

Senior Pastor - "she, her"

Linda has spent the last 25 years of ministry between South Africa and the United States. Ordained by the United Congregational Church of Southern Africa, Linda holds standing in the United Church of Christ. Her work in South Africa included teaching Feminist Theology at the University of Durban-Westville, serving as a chaplain and teacher and doing crisis work during a period of violent conflict in the country.

In the United States, she has served in urban congregations in Chicago, worked as a pediatric hospital chaplain, a hospice chaplain, organized congregations and groups for social justice, co-led church delegations to Southern Africa and Chiapas, Mexico, and was editor and coordinator of a Lutheran advocacy project on Southern Africa.

Linda has been on the pastoral staff of Chestnut Hill United Church (formerly Chestnut Hill United Methodist Church) since 2001. She is currently in the PhD Program at United Lutheran Theological Seminary and is studying worship, ritual, and social action.

If she had spare time, she would take more photographs. She loves singing in harmony, marching with others, and anything that has to do with water. Linda has two daughters, loves to eat anything they bake and reads everything they recommend.
